Last September 13, I was able to attend the book launch of the 6th installment of Moymoy Lulumboy at the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex.
The book Moymoy Lulumboy continues with the adventures of Moymoy, the boy aswang, now a teenager with adolescent issues and add the aspect of him being an aswang in today's age.
Moymoy returns to the enchanting world of Gabun where he saves his brother Alangkaw and childhood friend Hasmin from evil forces.
Under Lampara Publishing, Segundo 'Kuya Jun' Matias Jr.’s sixth book from the Moymoy Lulumboy series is titled 'Moymoy Lulumboy: Ang Ugat at ang Propesiya'. During interview, he said that he wants to showcase Moymoy's flaws just like what he did on his Batang Poz book.
“Gusto kong gumawa ng isang YA novel na gaya ng Mga Batang Poz. Yung buhay ng isang teenager o young adult: nag-e-explore, madalas magkamali at pagkatapos ay natututo sa buhay.”

Also launched on the event are his two books: Angelica, Ang Multo Ng Balete Drive, a young girl ghost breaking ghost protocols to save a friend’s life, and Moñito, Ang Mabait na Demonyo, a demon without tail and horn and with a heart of gold.

A storytelling of both books (Angelica and Monito) were also held during the book launch.
The illustrators were also present at the presentation of the Lampara Publishing's books by Kuya Jun. Jomike Tejido created the illustrations for book #6 of Moymoy Lulumboy while Jamie Bauza illustrated the images for Angelica.

Moymoy Lulumboy's rights to make it into a multimedia franchise was picked up by ABS-CBN. Hopefully, we can see it in a movie or animation adaptation in the near future. We had the pleasure to see the musical play version of the book performed by PETA actors.
