Leica Store celebrates 10 Years in the Philippines, begins new chapter with Henry’s Cameras

Leica Store Philippines celebrates a decade of capturing the energy and creative spirit of Filipino photographers, marking 10 years since the opening of its first store at Greenbelt 5 in Makati City on November 4, 2014. Established as more than just a store, it quickly became a vibrant hub for photographers of all stripes.

Over the past decade, the Leica Store has evolved into a community space where Filipino photographers—professionals, hobbyists, veterans, and newcomers alike—celebrate the art and craft of photography.

As Leica enters a new chapter in the Philippines, it proudly partners with Henry’s Cameras, one of the country’s most trusted camera retailers. This partnership unites Leica’s 155-year tradition of excellence in camera-making with Henry’s decades-long expertise and close ties to the Filipino photography community, promising the best products and services to consumers.

"Henry’s has been an integral part of Philippine photography for decades, not only by empowering photographers with quality products and solutions but, more importantly, by opening spaces where storytellers can share their passion for image-making,” says Nicholson Ong, President of Leica Store Philippines.

Ong adds, "This partnership is especially meaningful to me because of my father, Henry Ong, who has always admired Leica’s legacy since we started our business in 1980 in Quiapo. Leica embodies the essence of photography: capturing the stories that matter. With Leica joining Henry’s portfolio, we’re excited to elevate the photographic experience for our community."

To mark this partnership and celebrate the Filipino photography community, Leica and Henry’s Cameras are hosting a series of events at the Leica Store Philippines on November 9, 2024, located at the Lower Ground Floor, Greenbelt 5, Makati City.

Guests can explore an exhibition that showcases Leica’s milestones in the country and the deep ties the brand has forged with Filipino photographers. They can also learn about upcoming partnerships and programs and visit the refreshed online store. Attendees will also get a preview of the Leica Q3 43, the latest in the Q series that has proven to be one of the most beloved compact full-frame cameras in the photography community.

On November 9, photographers and enthusiasts are invited to a Community Event, where they can connect with fellow photographers, share experiences, and be among the first to try Leica’s latest products.

Introducing the Leica Q3 43: A New Standard in Compact Full-Frame Photography

As part of the celebration, guests at the Leica Store Philippines will have the exclusive opportunity to preview the Leica Q3 43, the latest in Leica's Q-series lineup. Officially launched in September 2024, the Leica Q3 43 is equipped with the innovative APO-Summicron 43 f/2 ASPH. lens, which mirrors the natural human eye perspective. This lens is designed to deliver exceptionally sharp and high-contrast images, making it ideal for both street photography and portraiture.

Building on the success of the Q-series, this third-generation model features a unique 43mm fixed focal length, an OLED high-resolution viewfinder, and an integrated macro mode for capturing close-up details. The Leica Q3 43 also incorporates Leica’s advanced wireless connectivity, supporting seamless data transfer to iOS devices via the Leica FOTOS app. With options for 60, 36, and 18-megapixel resolutions, this versatile camera enables photographers to capture stunning visuals even in low-light conditions.

Attendees for both events are among the first in the Philippines to experience the Leica Q3 43, exploring its cutting-edge design and high-performance features that set a new benchmark for compact cameras.
