Gold Fortune Textile’s medical-dental mission benefits children, elderly people of Taytay

Gold Fortune Textile (GFT) is true to its commitment to helping develop and uplift lives in the underprivileged communities in the country, particularly in the Rizal area. In upholding this principle, GFT  conducted a medical and dental mission last December 7, 2024, at the San Francisco Covered Court, Brgy. Muzon, Taytay, Rizal, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

GFT CEO Enrico Sy

The charity event was spearheaded by GFT CEO Enrico Sy, in partnership with the local government unit of Taytay, Rizal led by Mayor Allan de Leon, Dr. Mary Elinore F. Borja-Sta. Ana, and some volunteer medical doctors and dentists. Residents of Barangay Muzon, especially the children and elderly, were the main focus of this endeavor, solely committed to providing top-quality medical and dental care to people having limited access to basic healthcare.

From morning until afternoon, the venue was packed with people for medical consultations and treatment, including ECG, RBS testing, reflexology, dental check-ups, and tooth extraction. Licensed medical practitioners who participated in this project were Dr. Gerald Medina, Dra. Jozelle Mariz Medina, Dr. Paolo Meidrick Artezuela, Dra. Rizalyn Jane Balasabas, Dr. Aldwin Aguinaldo, Dr. John Gerome Simeon, Dr. Lia Angela Esguerra Reyes, Dr. Ralph Suarez.

For oral care, on the other hand, six dentists extended their helping hands to this worthy cause. They were Dra. Mary Grace Aguila, Dra. Frances Sta. Ana, Dr. Rommel Gatapia, Dra. Adina Lopez-Abogado, Dra. Corazon Amasigla and Dra. Nilda Santiago.

The medical and dental mission is an annual charity event of GFT since December 2022. Enrico, together with his parents, chairman Eduardo Sy and vice chairman Helen Sy, have taken the initiative to improve the quality of life in the community where their company is situated, especially the children and the elderly people who may feel helpless due to their medical conditions. GFT’s programs and training initiatives aim to empower these individuals to start small businesses, fostering self-reliance.

True to its tagline, “We Help, We Can,” GFT has not only provided free medical and dental check-ups but also made it possible this year to offer to residents of Barangay Muzon free haircut, pneumococcal and flu vaccines.

In line with this charitable act, Gold Fortune Textile will soon be launching the GFT Foundation in its aim to help certain causes such as caring for elderly people as well as homeless children. Those who wish to become volunteer personnel or send donations whether cash or goods, will be greatly appreciated.
