A Naturally Inspired, Eco-Friendly Christmas
The event’s theme, Sustainable Christmas, was beautifully reflected in every detail of Splendido’s holiday décor. The outdoor Christmas tree—this year’s main visual centerpiece—stood proudly as a 23-foot-tall, 100% upcycled creation made entirely from fallen tree branches, carefully assembled to celebrate nature’s raw beauty.
Native Filipino materials added warmth and authenticity to the scene: salakot, bilao, capiz lanterns, and handwoven rattan balls formed the trimmings, highlighting local craftsmanship and heritage. Inside the hotel and country club, guests were greeted by minimalist rattan Christmas trees illuminated from within, adorned only with subtle garlands to maintain the eco-centric aesthetic.
Community at the Heart of the Celebration
As part of its meaningful holiday initiative, Splendido Tagaytay Hotel and Country Club partnered with the Chosen Children Village Foundation, Inc., an organization dedicated to caring for abandoned, neglected, and surrendered children with mental and physical challenges. The foundation works to develop each child’s independence, self-reliance, and overall well-being, providing equal opportunities for excellence in academic, musical, vocational, and spiritual pursuits within an inclusive and nurturing environment.
Representatives from the foundation were present during the program for an AVP introduction, gift-giving, and a special message from the Program Director.
Program Highlights
The ceremony opened with an invocation, followed by welcome remarks and a presentation of Splendido’s CSR initiative. Acknowledgment and gift-giving to the Chosen Children Village Foundation set the evening’s heartfelt tone.
Hon. Lyndon Bruce, Municipal Mayor of Laurel, Batangas, served as the evening’s distinguished guest, delivering meaningful remarks before leading the official Christmas tree lighting.
As the tree came to life, the St. Francis Xavier Church Choir from Nasugbu filled the air with timeless carols, creating a moment of warmth and nostalgia. Guests were invited to a photo opportunity, after which they enjoyed a festive Filipino-themed dinner buffet accompanied by live entertainment.
A Taste of Filipino Christmas
The dinner spread showcased well-loved Filipino favorites and holiday specialties. Highlights included bibingka, puto bumbong, and hot chocolate, creating a nostalgic Noche Buena atmosphere. The buffet featured:
Soup: Chicken Binakol
Appetizers: Assorted Ensaladang Gulay sa Bilao, Tinapa Mousse, Mini Pandesal with Cheese Pimiento and Corned Beef
Main Course: Lechon Pork Belly Roll, Inihaw na Bangus, Pancit Palabok, Pandan Steamed Rice
Dessert: Ube Cheese Turon, Leche Flan with Macapuno, Fruit Salad
The cohesive theme, rich flavors, and traditional favorites brought guests together in true Filipino Christmas spirit.
